NEW PLYMOUTH Urban Restoration Workshop

The New Plymouth Urban Restoration Workshop was held on November 22nd, 2019 and was co-hosted by People, Cities & Nature, New Plymouth District Council and Wild For Taranaki / Restore Taranaki. The full-day workshop was attended by 50 people representing local council, community groups and members of the general public.

It was a productive event, with nine presentations (see below) in the morning and a field trip to Huatoki Reserve in the afternoon where discussions and demonstrations included:

  • Huatoki Conservation Group: A community group perspective (Bill Clarkson)
  • Measuring restoration of native forests (Kiri Wallace)
  • Monitoring mammals in urban landscapes (Stephen Hartley and Neil Fitzgerald)
