Southland Native Plant Restoration Workshop

The Southland Native Plant Restoration Workshop was co-hosted by People, Cities & Nature and the Southland Community Nursery on April 5th, 2019. The full-day workshop was attended by 65 people, including representatives from local councils, the Department of Conservation, the Southland Institute of Technology, community groups and trust organisations as well as members of the general public.

It was a fascinating event with six quality presentations in the morning (see videos and slides below) and a field trip to the Southland Community Nursery in the afternoon, where discussions included:

  • Southland Community Nursery (Chris Rance)
  • Rance's QEII covenant & revegetation project (Jesse Bythel)
  • Urban restoration plots (Kiri Joy Wallace)
  • Otatara Landcare Group Bushy Point revegetation project & pond creation
    (Brian Rance)
